Great Feedback for Bryn Brown!!

February 6th, 2008

I walked into the MICU at SMMC on Monday and one of the nurses asked to speak with me for a few minutes.В  She is the mother of a child that Bryn has been seeing at SMMC.В  Her son had been diagnosed with ADHD and autism.В  He has been placed on alot of medications and has been doing poorly in school.В  She had spoken with me before and I had suggested that she have her son seen by Bryn.В  She reported to me that Bryn noticed when working with her son that he did not seem to process what she was saying to him and that they might consider having a central auditory processing assessment completed on the child.В  The mother reported that they did that and have now discovered that his problems are primarily a central auditory processing problem and not ADHA or autism.В  She further noted that he is being weaned off of the medications that he has been taking.В  She expressed to me that had it not been for Bryn Brown, her son might have spent his whole life with a false diagnoses and with failed interventions.В  Thank you Bryn for what you do for our pediatric practise and for what you are doing with this child and his family.
